INTRODUCTION

Hi guys!! Welcome to my blog. Salam UITM di hatiku! Let me introduce myself first. My name is Norliana Binti Kamin. I came from Johor. After SPM, I further my studies in Pre-Diploma Agrotechnology (AT001) at UITM Pahang Campus Jengka. To illustrate, I'm going to talk about academic integrity and performance for today topic. Academic integrity means acting in a way that is honest, fair, respectful and responsible in your studies and academic in work.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism: An act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without  authorization and the representation of that author's work as ones own, as by not crediting the original author.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM?

Step 1: Planning your paper

• Consult your lecturer or tutor
• Plan your paper
• Take effective notes

Step2: Writing your paper

• Cite your sources ( for citation reference, use APA format)
• Make it clear who said what
• Know how to paraphrase
• Evaluate your sources
• Include a reference page

PARAHRASING

Using your own words to express someone else's message or ideas. In a paraphrase, the ideas and meaning of the original sources must be maintained; the main ideas need to come through, but the wording has to be your own.

CITATION

The way you tell your readers that certain material in your work came from another sources. It also gives your readers the information necessary to find that source again.

APA FORMAT

Family name, First name initials,( year of publication), Title o book, Place of publication , Publisher

GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)

• The final examination results and assessments at the end of every semester as assigned as Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) which represent student's academic achievement

• Patchwork plagiarism means rephrasing someone else's ideas to present them as your own.
• Self plagiarism means recycling your own past work.
